Villa To Attend Texas High School Water Polo Championships April 24-25

Huntington Beach, Calif. - April 21, 2009 - Brenda Villa, a three-time Olympic medalist and captain of the USA Women's Senior National Team is headed to Texas. Villa will be on hand at the Texas High School Water Polo Championships April 24-25 at the Carroll ISD Natatorium in Southlake, Texas.

Villa will be taking part in a meet and greet on Friday evening from 5-7pm and then again Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm. In addition she will be hosting a question and answer session at 4:45pm on Saturday afternoon.  

16 teams on both the boys and girls sides will compete making it the largest water polo championship Texas has ever seen at the high school level. Villa fresh off her professional season in Italy and a Silver Medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China is looking forward to the event. "It's exciting to be attending a major water polo championship outside of the state of California," Villa said, "the size of this event on both the boys and girls side is just a great sign of the expansion of our sport and I couldn't be happier to attend."
