WATER POLO: Men's Senior National Team Falls To Serbia 14-6 In Exhibition Game

The USA Men's Senior National Team fell to Serbia 14-6 in an exhibition game played in Serbia on Saturday. The game was the first competition of a near month long training excursion in Europe for Team USA. The game also happened to coincide with National Water Polo Day in the country. Serbia jumped out to an early lead at 3-0 after the first quarter and led 8-1 at halftime. USA would try and mount a rally in the fourth quarter scoring four goals but Serbia would counter with four goals of their own to end in the 14-6 final. Tony Azevedo led the USA team with two goals while Brandon Brooks led in net with two saves. "This is a training trip," said USA Head Coach Terry Schroeder. "Our whole purpose of this trip is to evaluate players and to get better as a team so we can close the gap against teams like Serbia. We still have a great deal of work to do," he added.
